Our family was on vacation in Calgary and walked past this location while downtown. Greeted immediately when we walked in. My wife ordered the falafel and I ordered the chicken shawarma. Both were delicious and large. Plus as many have said the dessert piece of baklava is incredible. Don't miss this when downtown! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Falafel King:
Got the mixed shawarma plate. Pretty average overall. The serving size is definitely generous but the meat was very cold. The owner is nice and gave a free baklava with the plate. The place itself is clean too. View all feedback.
Some of the best shawarma in the city! My go to spot. My only complaint is that they aren’t open on weekends.
We have always loved Falafel King, both for dine in and take out. The service is fantastic... they are always friendly and welcoming and provide great customer service. Their shawarma is fresh and so full of flavour. The portion sizes are awesome- very great value. We love the platters and the wraps. Yesterday we picked up mixed chicken and beef shawarma wraps (one of our go-to's) and they did not disappoint! No pictures this time...they were gone before we knew it
There weren't many places open on the Stephen Avenue Walk for walk-in take-away during COVID restrictions, but Falafel King had its sign board out and I was hungry. I've eaten there before, and this place is bit of legend in downtown Calgary for having great food, with great value. Staff there are very friendly. As of May 14, many of Alberta's restaurants are being allowed to open for sit-down service, but sadly not Calgary (or Brooks) due to the high case numbers here. Until things open in Calgary, you do have plan ahead carefully, as washrooms are not generally open even for places that are doing take-away.
All I have to say about this restaurant: Very yummy food Veeery welcoming people Very good prices
The name caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. To be honest, it was ok.nothing special. Pretty average. I ordered the mixed which came with chicken and beef, very little rice on the corner, salad, and a falafel. I have tasted better in other parts of the city so i will not be coming back.
