"Nice friendly service, but it took an hour to get our improperly cooked food. Very disappointing experience."

"I visited this great little culinary gem in Gagetown NB for the first time today. What a great find. A bit off the beaten track, but so worth the visit. The service and food were fantastic, and the view of the St John river from the outdoors terrace made it even better. I had a chance to chat with the very friendly host, and the chef who also came out on the terrace to check on my satisfaction with the food. This was an unplanned visit yet turned out so great. They also sell locally crafted beers, which paired very nicely with the chicken Flautas i had selected. I'm definitely going back, soon !"

"The sleepy village of Gagetown is a must-visit destination, only a tiny bit off the beaten path. Nestled on the banks of a gorgeous river, it has become a haven for artists and fine craft artisans. The marina is a great attraction in summer for boaters. It's a small place, but there are a few places to eat and a number of really interesting boutiques (Bankside is a must!). Although we are in Gagetown frequently, as we live in nearby Fredericton, we rarely take the time to eat. Big mistake - especially when it comes to Gulliver's! Owned and operated by the genial Chef Thane and his charming wife, Nancy - this resto, with both indoor and outdoor seating, has a menu that can compete on the international stage. Quirkily famous for "The Most Expensive French Fries in New Brunswick," they feature a broad menu of creative offerings, using as many locally sourced products as possible. Trained in France, Thane is fearless in his creations, with happy results. Ok, I'm a New Brunswick gal and a seasoned world traveller - love my NB spuds, so OF COURSE I had to try the fries! When they were presented, light, crisp, and sprinkled with the right amount of salt - I closed my eyes in reverence. Man, they were worth every sou! It's the goose fat, you see. And the triple bath in the fryer. We didn't stop there... oh no, two fun entrees - beautifully presented and generously portioned, a crisp glass of white wine and a locally brewed dark beer - all consumed with lots of banter and great convo on their deck overlooking the river on a perfect, lazy afternoon. We were totally delighted and promise to be back. In truth, it was hard to settle on a menu choice as everything sounded so scrumptious. My new bucket list is to start at the top and work my way through the menu. And those fries? Uh huh - oh yeah. I'll be needing more of those soon. Gulliver's is well worth the drive - treat yourself, you won't regret it. We'll probably see you there!"
