Smiling welcome and fast service for a taste after a wonderful walk around Payole Lake. Simple pancakes with Christmas tea or beer and Basque cider

"What can I say, the Auberge du chateau was a needed arrival in Loudenville and boy did it deliver. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming with an open fire on which meat in often cooked in front of you. The food is brilliant mountain grub with a protein packed menu that also caters to vegetarians, a feature not often seen in this part of france."
