"Despues de años regrese' al Refugio. De nuevo la comida fue super buena, y sumamente fresca y bien presentada. El patio un poco descuidado (estan preparando una renovacion ya). Me encanta este sitio, debido a la increible calidad de los ingredientes (hasta el detalle que hacen sus propias alcaparas!) En nuestro almuerzo, las laminas de trucha y el tacu tacu y el cerdo realmente sobre-salieron (y refrescos caseros!). La proxima ya porbare' el pato en ves del asado.No es nada barata, pero si es deliciosa. Vale la pena subir los 57 escaleras.------We had not been to El Refugio in years. We finally returned recently, and it was predicably delicious with (see pictures!) beautifully presented plates. The colors etc. are so vibrant, since the ingredients come from their on-site garden. I love this place due to incredible commitment to ingredients and flavors.This time winning plates were: TacuTacu with Camaron, appetizer of semi-asian slivers/laminas of raw trout, and a glazed pork / cerdo glaceada dish. The "refrescos" from on-site fresh fruits were awesome and surprising (plums/ciruellas!!!).They are preparing for a renovacion, so it dies not now look so "shiny," but the food and "vibe" make it well worth climbing 50-60 stairs!Its not cheap, but next time in Lunahuana, we will definitely go back (since I want to try their duck!)"

"Llegamos a tomar desayuno, pedimos un americano pero trajeron la mermelada puesta en un pan y la mantequilla puesta en otro pan... cuando se supone deben traerlo separado y cada uno prepara el pan a su gusto; el huevo revuelto de hecho fue solo 1 huevo, muy poquito. Los panes realmente enanos pero debe ser porque la panadería los hace así. Me pareció caro para la cantidad de cosas que trae, no nos llenamos para nada."

"Located just half a block from Cañete's Main Square, Café Koinonía is the ideal stop for a lunch or coffee break. Whether your passing through on your way to Lunahuana or in town for other business, you'll want to check this quaint little restaurant out. We happened upon it just over a month ago when business called us to Cañete for lunch and we asked ourselves, where can we eat that won't leave us doubting our decision afterward. We vaguely remembered an acquaintance that had started up a small cafe a few years back and so we set out looking for it. It appears that since Jaime and his wife opened the shop four years back, it has gained quite the reputation for it's coffee and homemade desserts in the most recent years. We found it easily enough and much to our surprised it had been recently remolded and had added a few options for lunch. We ordered the lomo saltado and a few sandwiches which where excellent. Afterwards we sampled two of their homemade desserts, delicious! Besides offering high quality menu options, the hosts are friendly, the location is impeccably clean and it is very easy to find. We don't regret our decision to visit Café Koinonía and we are sure you won't as well!"
