"Nestled on Folkestone 's seawall, The Holy Pundit surprises as an unconventional curry house. Hidden above The Mariner pub, this small, bustling venue has a laid back vibe that immediately welcomes you. The menu diverges from the norm, presenting Pundit Signature dishes alongside more traditional options. The chef 's passionate recommendations really helped us select and experience some amazing dishes. Standouts include exceptional onion bahjis that are a must order and inventive poppadoms. Although, these left us unable to unleash our tagline “Six Poppadoms Please” much to our annoyance. Mains and sides impress with faultless execution. Due to the unconventional nature of the menu customers may benefit from staff guidance, luckily the chef was more than happy to help. He gave us some fantastic advice, whilst choosing our meal. Service is characterised by a laid back yet polite demeanour, with unexpected complimentary starters enhancing the experience. The limited Indian beer selection was a minor letdown, the decor lacks traditional curry house elements and facilities would benefit from an update. Despite these minor drawbacks, The Holy Pundit earns a resounding recommendation. Its unique location, surprising ambience and exceptional service contribute to its 'hidden gem ' status. "11 of us for birthday Sunday dinner. the food was delicious and inventive, huge portions and every amount of choice. everything was served hot, which is not a common offer when they are catering for large pieces. service was very friendly and accommodating, without being intrusive. that could not blame!"

"Really lovely place. Arrived a bit earlier than booked but still shown to our table. Food and service was excellent. Service was what I describe as 'non intrusive ' meaning that they were fast, pleasant and not constantly hanging around. Food came out hot and it stayed that way until I finished mine. Music was proper background music as we were able to talk comfortably, even when they started to get busy. Lots of niches to sit in. Looking forward to going there again. It 's mid to high in the price range for those who need to know."

"Had lunch on Sunday, absolutely beautiful. the staff was very attentive, eating came hot and tasty. apple and vegetable crumbs for pudding was fantastic, sticky crumb pudding even better! they need 2 spoons per bowl so they can share. large portions they do not tell too many people about this little diamond, they could not be able to get a table next time. thanks to the black robin."

"I've given this one star only because I can't give it none. We were on holiday in the area and my wife had read about this place and said it seemed quite nice. We sat down and despite staff passing us for other tables, we were completely ignored. After 15 20 mins we got up and left without having been even acknowledged. Worst service I have ever had anywhere and just plain rude."
