"We came here after getting off the boat at Port aux Basque. Although the place does not look impressive the food is very good. I would eat here again after riding the boat to Newfoundland."

"Granted, there aren 't many eateries in Isle aux Morts..........but, as good as this one is, not many are needed. And....probably, if TA would allow, this rating should be more like 4 1/2. The staff were wonderful, friendly and eager to please. We enjoyed many conversations...with them....and their food service was very good as well. They have an extensive menu (including beer, wine, liquor)...would love to have been able to try more than we enjoyed. We had sweet pickles in mustard sauce....a new 'dish ' for us....very good. We shared a large salad....crisp and very well done. My wife had the 'Cod au Gratin ' (cod, potatoes, cheese).....Good. I had moose stew. It was good but could have used some seasoning. Prices are reasonable....our total was $29.50, including taxes. They close for the season the end of September."

"You have to look closely to find Alma's - it is in the strip mall with Foodland - and we were glad we found it. We requested the cod pan fried rather than deep-fried and it was very good. This is family restaurant with a basic menu. Warm friendly service; my husband enjoyed his Partridge berry pie, and my brownie was rich, moist and delicious."
