Hot after a long walk I stumbled into this little cafe to see that you actually sit next to their vegetable garden 10 x the size of the cafe! Choose what you want in your salad and they pick it fresh right then and there! Frozen lemon granita was delicious and yes 5 euros which is exactly the same (or less) as every where else I went to on Capri. So you can ignore one reviewer that complained on the price. What Stonehenge87 doesn't like about Il Giardino:
The prices outside are very misleading, the guy was welcoming us underlining that the service charge was already included in the prices, then he suggested things without bringing us any menu, surprise on the end 40 Euros for 2 caprese 2 orage juices and 2 coffes (3 euro per coffee not even in London). The worst was when about to pay he told us cash only, 2 km to get the money and come back to rescue my wife that had... View all feedback.
Il Giardino is a simple and somewhat old fashioned bar located on the way to or from Villa Lysis and Villa Jovis. One walks into it and feels as if walking into someone 's home. The owners are kind and polite and you may sit with your drink or food, in the company of a good book, one 's thoughts, the silence of a vegetable garden and the blue of Capri 's sky for as long as you wish in an atmosphere which is quite different from that found in the noisy and glamorous lower parts of Capri. The quiet garden is a good starter before one walks up to Villa Jovis or Villa Lysis with their amazing views and rich histories. Il Giardino is representative of one of the many faces of Capri, a tranquil one which one needs to seek out if truly interested in understanding and knowing the island which is not the shops and noise one may find anywhere.
You can sit outside and enjoy the view to lemontrees and garden. Very good food! We visited it two times. Everything was perfect! So good food and very friendly staff. Excellent place to go.
Please avoid this place. We ordered the pizza for €7, just a little bit cheaper than the other places but was a frozen pizza (from the supermarket) warmed in the microwave (not oven) with plenty of olive oil in the middle. The dough was a chewing gum. The service was poor and we didn't eat our meal. We will include a photo!

The worst was when about to pay he told us cash only, 2 km to get the money and come back to rescue my wife that had to stay there. No signal of the cash only enywhere and not even a glass of water for the long walk over the sun. I think all happened on the obvious intention of trapping turists.. I'll never come back for sure.

Salad was fresh, delicious and huge. This was a wonderful experience.
