"The view at this historical site is stunning but that's all this venue is worth, don't waste your money eating here. I came out here with my family for afternoon tea to enjoy the scenery and was thoroughly disappointed. The food and tea were mediocre at best but it was the terrible service that made me regret coming. Since they don't take reservations and we had a large group, we made sure to arrive earlier rather than later. I checked in with the servers to ensure they would be able to seat a larger group. They said yes so we proceeded to wait in line. We just missed the first seating but were the first in line for the second and waited for 1.5 hrs. The view is the selling point of the tea service so tables are seated facing the window. The server was setting up the tables in the same manner for us when the dining manager, Andrea Meade, came storming out. She came over and told us that we must sit with our backs to the view. When I started to ask for clarity she cut me off and said that I had the option to either stay for service or not (basically take it or leave it) but there's a long line up and people are waiting. She was in no mood to listen and was argumentative when I inquired about alternative solutions. She talked down to me and my family... in front of everybody in the lineup...I have never been so humiliated and embarrassed in public. In the end she curtly told us to sit, turned her back to us and left. We proceeded to sit down with our tails between our legs. In hindsight, we really should have left but I think we were in shock from how we were treated. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had, especially from somebody at a manager level. All this hassle was definitely not worth it. I won't be back again."
