I'm slightly perplexed by the very negative reviews here. I arrived at lunch and there were groups at four other tables all having lunch; all of them Hadrian's Wall walkers. I ordered lunch, it arrived quite quickly, it was nice pub grub, the young lad serving came and checked everything was OK. It's not the best pub I've ever visited but I'd happily return here. What Barry E doesn't like about Greyhound Inn:
Traveling past on our bike trip, decided to stop for a drink. Bought 4 pints, only had 1 choice of larger. sat outside in the beer garden, and the landlord came out and remonstrated with us because we was eating a sandwich from our packed lunch. View all feedback.
Went for Sunday lunch with my grandson was absolutely gorgeous I had a small and grandson had large tbh he struggled to eat it. Definitely be going back probably for a bar meal try something else on the menu plus staff were all very nice ..
Fun stop on the Hadrian's Wall hike, perfect place for a break. Friendly staff, food wasn't the best we've had but it was decent. We had the cheese pie which we enjoyed.
Excellent, was on holiday in the area and looking for a meal, came over this pub. My wife is disabled and found it an excellent access, we welcomed where by a charming young man who took our order for drinks served in 5 minutes, I ordered the sausages and mash and peas, the woman had a child portion as they did not eat much, the meal arrived in 2 minutes, really nice the severity was super delicious. Would highly recommend. Service was great, could not be more helpful.
Fantastic local pub with a wide selection of genuine ales and excellent locally produced food at reasonable prices. Could not mistake our visit, food was delicious as well as good choices, including vegetarian. Four different genuine Ales on the hand pump so perfect for real Ale lovers. Although it is not busy on a road through the village, so beer garden in front of the pub is still pleasant when the weather is suitable. Simply ignore the website as it looks as if it were only partially completed (as of September 2020) with template text left instead of pub information and does not reflect exactly on the pub itself. The menu in the photos will change, but gives a sample of the menu at the current time.
Nice food and staff, a beautiful surprise during walking Hadrian's wall, highly recommended.
