The Plough Inn Wreay - Carlisle

We had dinner here whilst passing through the area, as the inn had so many positive reviews on tripadvisor and was near our hotel. We were really glad we did as the food was excellent I had the halloumi to start and my husband had the Geordie bon bons which were black and white puddings! He had the lamb burger for main and I had fish pie with seasonal veg. All delicious and plentiful. Service was also fantastic, waitresses were all very helpful.

Although slightly expensive, the food was ok. Lamb was a bit tough and didn't fall off the bone as stated, however everything else was fine. It was hectic when we arrived but the staff were friendly and dealt with it the best they could. The wainwrights ale was bang on and they made a good brandy coffee (just didn't get a teaspoon)

We went last night for a curry we had won through facebook. the food was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and friendly. we took the children and they had a separate menu to choose. will definitely come back! many thanks for a nice first visit xx

Lovely meal. I won a £20 voucher in a fb competition. Friendly staff, lovely warm reception on arrival. Huge choice on menu. Gorgeous food. Def will go back. Thank you xx

First visit today and all I can say is wow!! the food was amazing and plenty of it, we couldn't manage desert as we were full from our mains wish we'd of tried here sooner would definitely recommend and we'll be back soon
