"We decided to give it a try because we saw high ratings but obviously those votes came from clients with less experience. The only good thing about this restaurant is a location. The young girl who was serving us took the plate while we were...still eatng antipasto. The plate had remains of salsa which we would use as we were starving! She is young and obviously must learn a lot. The guy who brought vino was ok although confused. First plates were pasta. I saw their photo on Tripadvisor of pasta being prepared handmade. Might be. But ingredients are terrible. It felt like we were eating plastic. Second plates meat: dry dry dry. Polenta: worse I tried ever. Bread seems to be from supermarket (hard and very dry. "An Italian friend took us here for lunch years ago, and my husband and I regularly dream about their salumi and their gnocco fritto. So of course we had to stop by on our way to Parma. There is no menu to speak of. The few dishes they serve are written on a chalkboard and hung in the room. After three days in Alba, we kept our lunch relatively light a basket of gnocco fritto, formaggi and salumi. We savored every bite. I was sorry I didn't have a chance to try their tortellini with porcini mushrooms, which a lot of people around us were enjoying. What we didn't realize last time (because we were with Italian friends) was how friendly and warm the service is. Almost no one spoke English, but they spoke slowly enough that we could understand the gist of what they were saying and their boisterous warmth was easy to pick up on. In a room full of locals, they made us feel warm and welcome. You won't regret coming here. Highly highly recommend it."
