Food is always amazing! The acoustics are tough the music is always loud so it’s hard to chat. But it’s such a cool ambience and so yummy, it’s hard to complain about that. I always get the shrimp tacos and you have GOT to try the Mac cheese. It’s made with their queso and it’s topped with bacon. YUM! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Gonza Tacos Y Tequila Cary:
our table was right at the door so we were blown each time with a frigid brise. kellner was very nice, but not awfully attentive. eating was decent, but there's only one choice of a pomegranate salad dress that I didn't like at all, so I didn't order what I wanted. my son ordered a chorro for dessert, who was never brought out and our waiter essentially gave us speculation, so we never saw him again to ask about it.... Presentation top notch, food was incredible, service was first rate. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We came here for dinner a few days ago. There was a wait for a table, so we opted to sit at the bar. Even though the bartenders were busy, they made sure that we were attended to (I honestly couldn't believe how they were able to take care of the people eating at the bar while also making a variety of drinks... great multi tasking! . I got the Pollo tacos with rice. My fiance' got the chicken tinga tacos with rice. We traded a taco with each other so we could try them both. They were delicious! The rice was great too as well as the salsa and chips. We will definitely be back!
While I've enjoyed a tasty dinner here in the past, my thought is that this place really caters to those who want to eat and drink while shooting the breeze or celebrating with friends or coworkers. This is reflected in both the prices and the need to make reservations. Still, an overall positive experience.
Great food, great atmosphere, great decoration and great style. This is a Mexicanized AMERICAN restaurant. There is nothing wrong with that. I'm not sure if the owner, chef, or cooks are Mexican, but the food was authentic, yet Modern. The authentic flavor was there, but it was also different. Authentic in the sense that it resembles Mexican street food, but unlike that street food it's not so cheap. To be honest it is some of the best Mexican food that I've had in the Area. The ambiance is great for a date or dinner with the family. The Spicy Pepino specialty drink was refreshing, and not so spicy. The queso, guac, and salsa with chips is also great. I tried ordering the carne asada tacos in a Spanish/Mexican accent and was corrected with its English/American pronunciation which was difficult to sit through. This restaurant did not receive a perfect score because the Authenticity of Mexican food and culture was good, but something felt like it was missing. However, I don't know what. So, let's just say a 4.5 is my official score. I am Mexican and grew up eating Mexican food in Mexico and on the West Coast.
Gonza is consistently delicious and does gluten free so well. We didn’t realize we were still visiting together after lunch hours because the sweet staff never made us feel rushed. Great food and staff.
