We discovered this gem when searching for a pizza restaurant that was not in the busy centre of Sestri Levante.....these pizza's are by far the best ones I have...

"As we were staying in the Hotel Santa Maria we tried this restaurant, which is attached, on our first night. Although we tried another place next evening, we returned to eat at La Caracca for the rest of our stay because it was so good. The interesting four course menu included a choice of authentic, tasty Ligurian dishes, the wines were excellent and all backed up with warm and welcoming service from the staff. The continental breakfasts offered a range of fresh pastries, breads and toasts as well as cheese, ham and eggs."

"Dine in a house just above the board with views of the coast and the valley also outdoor under a beautiful illuminated pergola. The arrival through the streets that climb up the hill once you find a parking lot you access this place welcomed by the warmth of the chef and the very kind staff. We opted for the menus, which present the best of the chef's cuisine with fried shrimps, branzino with maracuia sauce and then the wonderful ravioli of backache that enhance the palate with flavors of herbs. To close the rabbit to the ligure . excellent also the homemade bread. I would say honest prices for the proposed kitchen and the beautiful location. Congratulations to all the staff."

"We had dinner here on a saturday night and were very lucky to be able to make a reservation. The restaurant was fully booked by the locals. Large families meet there for a joint dinner. The food was simple but good, as was the wine. Service was great. All this for a reasonable price. To be recommended !"

"The food is delicious, interesting, connected to the region, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere was refined. No complaints about anything except the price. Even though we enjoyed everything, it was by far the most expensive meal of our two weeks around Italy."
