"We had lunch here on a National holiday. Excellent service and excellent food. My husband and I both had the vegetarian lasagna. Not the typical style lasagna we have in the US. A very unique and delicious sauce. A great place for lunch or dinner. We went back for another meal but it was a closed day for the restaurant. We wish we had more time to try more of their meals. Delicious with great service!"

"We had a great time at Tenuta Colombaio, apartment was clean and equipped with what we needed. The place is idyllic with amazing view and peaceful area to relax. A special mention to the host Maurizio who was very friendly and helpful, ensuring we enjoying our stay. I would recommend this place and we definitely be back there if decide to visit Tuscany again."

"Stopped here by chance on our bike ride from Siena to Volterra. The food was superb and the service fantastic. As a bonus our server also allowed us to charge our bike batteries. Highly recommended."

"Lovely place reached after kilometers of dirt, crossing tiny villages as only in Italy you can find. Parking is large and free, if there is not much crowding there is the possibility to bathe in the pool (always ask first! , the surroundings are wonderful and in addition there are a lot of animals to make children happy: turkeys, chickens, pigs, horses, geese, rabbits, a ciuco and three kagnoloni that wander quietly among the (just tables elemosinando something. We ate (at fixed menu the mixed slices of the farm, local pecorino with Verniano honey, a first (which I do not remember! and a mixed grill of pigs them (sixth century). Very good also the vinsanto made by them. Very good all TRANNE the desserts that were not there (there were only cantucci and vinsanto . The account seemed to us slightly altino, but considering that we ate almost all things made in the house of first quality, then you can stay. Among other things the host family is very friendly and jovial, especially the lady in the kitchen. We'll definitely come back."

"Some reviews of La Sosta have been lumped in with Columbaio, leaving the simpler menu unfairly orphaned as TA 's 'worst in the area '. Far from it: La Sosta is the taste of a high performance operation ticking over at low revs, casually presenting modest dishes with occasional flashes of Michelin star brilliance. If you 're seeking bumper platefuls of cheap grub, seek on. If you 're looking for a well crafted meal from a superb kitchen at a comparable price to the tourist traps of Florence, book confidently. You 'll be in good hands. Our 3+toddler family enjoyed a faultless light 2/3 course lunch here for a few cents over EUR65. Highlights included majestically fragrant chicken with proscuitto and caramelised tomatoes, the sweet and sour onions accompanying the salami misto, superb blood orange juice and a deftly tart little apple cake. Their own olive oil is good rather than exceptional. The fact that they make (but don 't.serve! their own grown wine is telling on several levels. We tried (and bought some. It 's nowhere near good enough to rank on their excellent and not overpriced list. Overall, though: four stars. Plus one to redress balance to the current rating."
