This restaurant serves the best sesame chicken in the city! The dish is browned and spicy, not soggy - hallelujah! I almost didn't write them a review because of their four-star rating, but I am so glad that I did. The staff was also extremely friendly and patient when I placed my order. View all feedback.
What Keanu Gaylord doesn't like about China Cafe:
I hadn't been to the China Cafe in years. My prior experience was poor, but I'd heard it had improved. Unfortunately, it was just as bad as last time. First impression was a shoddy interior. Then the service was so slow I seriously thought about leaving as I had only an hour for lunch. It took a long time just to get a menu. I had to hurry through the meal, but there was nothing to savor in any case. It wasn't terrib... View all feedback.
Ate here for the first time. Quite possibly the best Szechuan Beef I've ever had. Service was very good and food was ready quickly.
It's been over a year, maybe more, since we last purchased food from China Cafe. It must have new ownership and clearly has a new chef. We had to throw out the entree and the appetizers were below average. It used to be really good. Also, the inside is even more run down than it used to be. I should have gone to South Garden II in N. Castle Rock. What a disappointment. However, I will say that the staff were extremely friendly and courteous.
Cute little place, very kind people. The sesame chicken was great and the best thing we ordered. Egg drop was pretty good. I always love pieces of corn in there so that’s a win for me. The Mongolian beef was so/so and the lo mein really lacked flavor of any kind, I wouldn’t order that again. Overall not bad decent portions but not the best we’ve had in CO especially for the cost.
Pretty tasty food and fairly good price. Best chinese that I have found in Castle Rock. The sesame chicken sauce was pretty think so it soaked the breadding really quick. The leftovers were almost inedible because of it. But would definitely go back with a bigger appetite to prevent leftovers.
The brown rice was rice but other than that was decent. I had the lemon chicken and my husband hade the Mongolian beef. The food came in really good packaging.
