What a treat! Came here because it was close, but I was happy to see so many traditional Mexican dishes on the menu, with me being a Gringo. Food was delicious and forgot to grab photos, the flavor was there. I definitely recommend this no frills place as it was clearly a favorite with locals (judging by the clientele). What Joana Kohler doesn't like about El Portal Mexican:
Expensive and sevice aas slow. Food was okay. Had the sampler platter . Best thing there was the chips and salsa and the salsa had way to much cilantro in it.. like way way to much. Like globs of it.. View all feedback.

The way you can tell a Mexican restaurant is going to be GOOD is from their free chips salsa. And boy these did not disappoint! The service was friendly, but was a little slow. However, the pricing, great drinks, and EXCELLENT food made up for it. Bathrooms could be cleaner, men’s sink was out of commission. However, overall it was clean and maintained. Will be back recommend! Service: Dine in
Shut down for Cockroack infestation..proceed with caution...
The food is all made fresh. They have wonderful chorizo tacos. All of the food is delicious and generous portions. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Family owned. My favorite Mexican restaurant in the valley. Parking: The small lot is shared with other businesses. I have always found a spot, but sometimes ut is crowded. Wheelchair accessibility: My husband has a scooter and it is not a problem. Service: Dine in
