I had grilled cabrito which is a tipical Portuguese dish. Not bad but would expect more quality in the meat both quality and cooking wise. For someone that has had this dish elsewhere in this area so beautiful and food rich. Nice restaurant and staff . I am sure eventually they will do it nicely. View all feedback.
The only place for dinner in town and this may account for complacency. Really poor service- we were one of 2 couples in the restaurant and we were ignored for sometime by the 4 people who appeared to be working… We waited a very long time to be served, for our wine to arrive and then for all of the main course to materialise. We had to ask for the missing food! Having explained we were vegetarian and noting that that the menu stated that a ‘vegetarian menu ‘ was available, we were advised that possibly risotto or noodles and vegetables could be available. We discussed what was on offer on the main menu which was suitable for vegetarians and were then served soup which contained pieces of sausage and a main dish garnished with ham. The saga of the wine was almost worthy of Basil and Manuel. At a point mid meal, the wine we had selected eventually arrived with our waitress who then partially opened it at our table, before removing the bottle again. It returned 15 minutes later to be opened by a man, who appeared to be the owner, who informed us that it was the last bottle in stock. We were left wondering whether it had been removed unopened previously, as he wanted to save it! When we did finally get a glass of wine we were more than halfway through our dinner. Interestingly other people arriving after us were greeted pleasantly, served drinks immediately and served attentively. Perhaps these customers were local and our bad experience was down to a very poor attitude towards tourists. If you are staying at Linhares overnight and want to eat, I’d suggest a taxi to decent restaurant elsewhere!
Very nice restaurant from both sides of the street, one on the castle the other looking for the city. Many seats, food is traditional and stylishly prepared. Friendly staff. Recommended
Very good restaurant. The food is delicious and of high quality. The wine map is impressive. But the service was slow. Everything else is great
We’ve been here 2 times, once for dinner and once for lunch. The ambiance is good, staff is very friendly. The quality of the food is great, really great. We tried the soup, the sausage rolls, the mushroom risotto, the kids dishes with fries and turkey steak, the wild board and tuna tartar. All was very good. The price is a bit high for local portuguese standards, but it’s still a good price vs quality. At last the deserts, we had quite a couple and they were all good. The meal sizes are regular, nor small, nor too big. I’m a big eater and an entree and main dish were enough. If you’ve got some room left, pick a nice dessert to top it off (or with some nice Port). The wine list is enormous, know your wines if you want to choose! Really nice place to visit. If you are considering the place, just go!
Cozy environment with tasty food (including decent vegetarian options), cozy environment, great wine selection and outstanding service.
