"You must go. Never been before? There's lots of easy access to beautiful views you don't even have to leave your car before you're greeted by wild ponies. Been a few times but unsure? There's a wide range of walks and activities with forests, rivers, lakes, tors, valleys, pubs, clapper bridges. In the summer you can have a swim in the wild rivers, with the popular spots being close to the car and the less so spots being a short walk. You can scramble and climb on the famous Dartmoor rocks, camp under the stars (make sure to check the laws and areas you can camp on first! , and there's so many free places to park that you only have to walk a bit more from. The beauty alone is worth going. Seriously, you have so many possibilities with such a grand empty space, there's no reason not to."

"After pitching up at the campsite down the road on a cold, wet October evening, we decided we didn't want to cook, so we drove up to Peter Tavy Inn. We didn't book ahead as it was a spontaneous visit. We were seated quickly despite there being 9 of us. The service was excellent, food delicious, friendly staff working. Our biggest compliment comes in regards to allergies though. Our friends have a child with a nut allergy and our youngest has a dairy allergy (both carry epipens, so serious). Upon explaining this to the lady taking our order, the chef wasn't happy cooking the food he wanted due to a risk of cross contamination. We worked together and found a solution we were all happy with and we enjoyed our food and visit so much, we've booked to come back on Friday evening before we go home on Saturday. Thank you so much for being so accommodating understanding and knowledgeable. Certainly our best eating out with allergies experience to date!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
