A este restaurante le falta atención y calidad para lograr que visitante quede encantado con Champoton. Tal vez sea que llegó un grupo junto con nosotros y el volumen los agobió. Buena vista. View all feedback.

Awful service The food is okay but the staff were awful. I politely asked to sit in the non air conditioned area. It was an hour before closing. The waiter was not happy and decided to clean all the days cutlery at the table next to mine even though all the rest of the tables were empty and I would be gone in 40 mins. I was down the road a little earlier and should have eaten at any of the other places besides this but thought I would support the restaurant next to the hotel I'm staying at. Big mistake. Don't make the same one.
We went here on recommendation from the Desconocido Magazine (they have an English version for travelling in Campeche in the Zinio app). The restaurant is very clean, bright and is located quite well, on a main road facing the water. I had camarones a la plancha and my husband had pescado Veracruzana, the dishes were what we expected them to be but as with so many restaurants in Mexico, it arrived just slightly warm, not hot as I expect a hot meal to be. The food was ok, nothing great or anything to rave about. The waiter was a little pushy and looked annoyed that we didn't order appetisers, we are not big eaters and especially not when it's hot and humid!! I ordered a Margarita which was better than the food. If you are in town and happen to be hungry and are close by, go here by all means, if not, look around at one of the loncherias on the same road (they are quite a few), I'm sure they are better and cheaper.
I had a great pampano fish, a fish with soft skin and no scales. This is a fish that you may not find elsewhere. The coconut shrimps were good, but they added cream cheese to the traditional recipe (I preferred them with no cheese), but my wife loved them. They should offered them with or with no cheese. The shrimp cocktail that my kids had was fantastic. Very good quality. The prices are high if you compared them to eating in a street restaurant, but reasonable for an international traveller.
The free appetizers were huge ,had 3 different ones. I had coconut shrimp which was good, with peach sauce. A little too much batter for me. My husband had chicken Fayitas, which was good and large.the service was fast and attentive. Prices went from 100- 160 pesos for our dishes. Thus restaurant is south oh champoton.
