Cru Wine Shop - Charlotte

The owner, Charles, always makes you welcome no matter who you are. The service, the food, the music, atmosphere, and most importantly the wine is all wonderful and classy. It's a great place whether you want to make an impression for a romantic date or just meeting up with friends for wine. I highly recommend this wine bar.

Visited the Cru Wine Shop over the weekend, and having never been there before, was pleasantly surprised at the attentive service provided by the owner Charles. He's a very personable man and very knowledgeable regarding varietals, and pairings. He was an absolute joy to speak with .... there was a party going on when we entered the shop, and even though Charles was attending to the guests, we did not feel at all that he wanted us to leave. We will return again and purchase some wine it is a very cute store, they have small plates and many, many wines to select from would be great to have a glass and an appetizer at night after work. They also offer outdoor seating when the weather cools down a bit.

This would not be my first pick of places to go after a long day of work because I don't drink wine. But, it wasn't my decision and I was pleasantly surprised! If you like wine, this is the place to be. The choices are endless. They also serve beer and the variety is decent. Their menu is mainly appetizers for sharing and everything we tried was excellent. It was served hot and fresh! The staff is incredibly friendly, continuing to check on the table and if anyone needs something. I would definitely recommend Cru Wine Shop for a stop after work!

The part of my experience that stands out the most is the owner. He genuinely cared about the customers and wanted everyone to have a good time. Immediately upon entering he met us as the front door, introduced himself, and helped us find a table. After excellent service from the waiter, the owner came back to make sure we were enjoying our delicious meal. Lastly, when he saw we had left the restaurant, he even went outside to say goodbye and thank us for dining with them. He truly went out of his way for every person in the restaurant and it stood out. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was fun. We visited on a Wednesday night and enjoyed live music. Will definitely go back.

This place is great. Owner is always here and shakes our hands every time we come in. Fridays and Saturdays usually have great music. The wife and I don't really drink wine but their beer selection is pretty good. Service is probably just how you'd want it for a wine bar with the servers giving you space and time. For beer drinkers like me and my wife we'd prefer a little more attentiveness but can't really fault them. Can't really say enough good things about this place. Never had a bad experience after 10 or so visits.
