A quick sushi place for lunch on the South side of Charlotte turned into a wonderful surprise in finding Sushiya. Great Japanese fare, very fresh fish, great variety in my Chirashidon. The menu had a pedestrian sake list but when I asked about bottle options, they had some nice options that were not available on the menu.$17 for soup, salad, a great sushi bowl and gyoza. The service was terrible I have never been so humiliated in my life. When I came in the main chef in the hat rolled his eyes at me and started making monkey sounds and all the staff laughed I preceded to eat my food but felt ashamed and started crying. I noticed the same man kept looking at me laughing wiping his eyes mocking me when I left they made the monkey noises again . The food was good but the service was hor... View all feedback.

This place is a Sushi gem. The prices are reasonable and the sushi very fresh and the rice made just right not too sticky. I had the Sushiya Roll which had avocado and crab plus cucumber. It was yummy! Even my boyfriend who normally does not like Sushi liked it. The service was good. My friend had some Tempura and shared it it was crunchy with a thin flavorful batter. Will definitely go there again!

Love this place. Sushi are always fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
The food was pretty good, but it took an hour from the moment we sat down until we got our food. They definitely would benefit from another employee or 2. They were very friendly when you could get them to stop at the table. Honestly I would go back if they can speed it up a bit.Food: 4/5
