The dining process, cooking your own food at the table, was both a challenge and a pleasure for guests. While some had issues with seating arrangements, others enjoyed personalized service and attention to detail from the staff. Overall, experiences at The Melting Pot ranged from disappointment to delight, with some guests vowing to return and others swearing never to set foot in the establishment again.
Went here with my wife and parents last night. Not my first experience here, I've been several times before and have never been disappointed. The waiter, Scott I believe, was attentive and friendly and did everything to cater to my parents, who can definitely be picky and sometimes can have seemingly odd requests (as a former waiter myself I'd hate to have to wait on them). Both he and the owner, Derek, went above and beyond to make our experience great. While chain restaurants aren't generally my thing, I would never hesitate to recommend this locally owned franchise to anyone that wanted a nice leisurely multi-course meal with a date or with family.
This was our second time at the melting pot and as I expected.. I was not let down. Not only was the food amazing the service was off the charts. The owner introduced himself and made sure we getting excellent service. I felt that was a nice personal touch you don't normally see the owner of an establishment working with his employees to make sure tables were cleaned and that guests are enjoying themselves. This place is beyond my expectations every time. The best part is you know you will never leave hungry. I honestly couldn't say enough about this place to justify the experience. Although very expensive it's money well spent on special occasions.
Another great family dinner at The Melting Pot Charlottesville. Tim was a great waiter and also was nice to meet the owner tonight as well. The food was excellent as always and the chocolate fondue dessert was enjoyed by everyone too!
My husband, oldest son, and his wife and I went to celebrate Mother's Day yesterday. We drove up from Lynchburg after church. I had made reservations. When I made them I was asked if we were celebrating anything special and I had laughed and said yes, Mother's Day. When we were seated there were 4 carnations laying at each place on the table. Nice touch, especially for me because I love flowers. We had never been there before. We had a coupon to use for $20 off of a 4 course meal for two. We all ended up getting that. Because our table only had one cooking surface it did limit us to having to agree on the cheese fondue, the cooking sauce, and the dessert fondue. Next time, unless it's just my husband and I, I will request a two burner cooktop table. I thought it was expensive but nice to do to celebrate a special occasion. It was definitely a unique dining experience. Our waiter was very nice. I thought the food was delicious. I definitely was full after having all those courses. It has made me want to dig out my fondue pot and do this at home!
Great place to hang out and eat. Notice the bad reviews are by left wingers who burn their own cities down over nothing. This place is warm and welcoming to all! Can't believe they leave a negative review because a politician ate there. Then again, I guess I can believe it.... Crazy people in the world for sure.
