we came here last minute when we were not going allies was fully booked and it was not disappointed. from beginning to end the employee, where engaged and so inviting. we all ordered a roast. the bark comes with a tasty yorkshire pudding the size. from her head (see photo) and one dessert and eating was a very high standard. we could not fail to fail and cannot expect to return View all feedback.

I have eaten here regularly and in the rule it is all excellent and top class. However, my experience was different yesterday and shows them that we are all human and it is not the right time. I can honestly say that the steak in my midday sandwich. though nicely cut was the hardest steak I have eaten for years, it was so chewing that it was barely edible and I am surprised that none of my fillings came out. the chef... "Booked for afternoon tea for me and my mum. Absolutely lovely setting and welcoming atmosphere. The tea sets and crockery were so beautiful. The selection of teas were amazing and I love the fact they were loose leaf! The afternoon tea itself was delicious (especially...the sandwiches, oh and the cakes…and everything else). Congratulations to the ladies at this tearoom for making such an amazing environment. I’ll be back asap!"

"What a birthday treat for my son’s 45th! He loves fine dining, that’s why he chose Next Door, the restaurant is only small and intimate, but the ambiance of the place is spot on, matching the clientele! The lunch menu although small, was just right, as everything is cooked to order. I opted for the main and dessert! Delicious, as the menu changes every week I will only comment on the flavours and portions. I found it to be a dining sensation, the flavours were unbelievable, an explosion of tastes that every one of my tastebuds picked up on. The portions were ok for me, but I know others would have eaten another 2 dishes. My dessert, even now I’m in heaven with the taste! WOW! 100% amazing. The staff were very attentive, ready to take our orders, drinks and anything else we wanted, we were able to relax, no rush, just a completely relaxing delicious meal. I would definitely go back! "I decided today that I want something more exciting for lunch apart from my bland chicken sandwich and 2 apples. I came out of the office and walked across the bus way and saw a colleague of mine standing at the bus stop having some fresh air. He asked where I was going, so I told him that I was looking to go somewhere for a sandwich for lunch. He suggested Co-op or Iceland, but then he said that I should go into Monk 's delicatessen. He said he had some great sandwiches from there and their ingredients were very fresh and the manager frequently gave him the end of the ham, saying that it would be too stringy to put through the slicer. I decided to go to Monk 's on his recommendation. The staff were very warm znd welcoming and were very attentive when I mentioned my dairy intolerance. They ran me down the ingredients they used to fill the sandwiches and there were many meats, cheeses and extensive salad ingredients too. The staff told me what had milk products in and what didn 't. I chose brown bread, 3 types salami, roast ham and all of the salad. I also selected an Oasis summer fruits bottle. It all came to £6.20. My colleague said that the costs would be comparable with Co-op or Iceland sandwiches. I thought on average the price was slightly more expensive. However, the price of the sandwich was only £5 and matched the freshness of ingredients and was very filling. The saltiness of the ham and the spiciness of the chorizo complimented each other with the freshness of the salad ingredients which cut through the smokiness of the meat. It was incredible value compared to the packaged sandwiches of the other local shops. The sandwich was 'fit ' and 'to die for ' as I described it back to my colleagues in the office. From the first bite to the last, the freshness of ingredients and the smokiness and spiciness of the meats were delightful and certainly did more than fill the void in my stomach that normally my bland chicken sandwich did. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff and beautiful hand made fresh sandwiches which I definitely would return if I needed a tasty sandwich for lunch. Thank you very much and keep on making!"
