Evie , Ella , Shirley and myself are regular guests at Obscure Coffee on our weekend walks around our beautiful city of Chester Obscure is a small and welcoming coffee shop serving a outstanding Ethiopian coffee that is smooth with a hint of bitterness Expertly served in china cups The host offers a small selection of cakes a treats My only suggestion would be that a larger selection of savory treats would be good? Just stumbled across this place on Saturday … Possibly the best flat white every … and I have had a few ! Oh and the cherry bake well was amazing too, 5 stars all the way, and a must if your passing xx
We have been regulars at Obscure Coffee for some time now and decided it was finally time to share our thoughts. This cozy little café is owned and operated by James and his partner, along with their adorable toy poodle who greets customers as they come and go. Although their menu may not be extensive, the quality of their offerings is top-notch, including award-winning sausage rolls and cakes in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The coffee, as expected, is exceptional. During our last visit, James recommended a delicious shredded chicken coated in citrus mayonnaise with fresh greens, all served on a soft bagel. It was delightful! We highly recommend giving Obscure Coffee a try and be sure to say hello to both James and his furry friend.
Cem and Bridgette make this place so welcoming. Their coffee is delicious and gets me through the hump in the day, and it’s always a pleasure to see James.
A fabulous find! Outstanding coffee served by delightful staff in a well-appointed environment. Having a ‘thing’ about pastel de nata I was impressed by those served here. Flakey pastry with a custard filling that was not over sweet and neither sloppy nor cloying. muito bem!
Been a few times now, such a lovely atmosphere and the coffee is unbelievable!!! Looks small from outside but has a few places in the back which is very chilled. Also has a small menu of homemade wraps and sausage rolls which are out of this world. Cakes are on the menu too!! Not far from the river on lower bridge street, well worth a visit if you like your coffee
