We visited Rene's Cafe at least once a week for 8 weeks. It's a little out of the way and situated on the lake, with amazing views from the terrace cafe. I never actually ate anything from the menu except cake; and eventually tried them all. The very favourite and most eaten was the Schwarzwalder Kirschetorte which was spectacular every time.The only cake not to my taste was the Mohnkuchen, but managed to finish it.... What User doesn't like about Rene's Cafe:
Location was very nice, but the wooden steps from the lake would have to be overhauled. The apple strudel was self-made and good, the (poor) cheese cake was not entirely our taste, but that is relatively View all feedback.

We had a very nice early lunch with our two little children. The lasagna and goulash are both of good quality and the salad was beautiful and fresh. The terrace was nice and quiet as we arrived early and there was a beautiful view of the lake.

A café with class! Rene and his wife are excellent hosts and serve a wonderful meal in an exquisite way at very reasonable prices! You have wonderful local German dishes, BBQ and many other ways to delight your culinary taste. The service is very personal so that every guest feels welcome and feels special. The view is also great!

Very quiet and good place with magnificent view from the terrace to the lake! Good service and acceptable prices. Delicious food served quickly. Café is located in the forest very close to the lake.

We visited Rene's Cafe at least once a week for 8 weeks. It is a little out of the way and on the lake, with magnificent views from the terrace café. I never really ate something out of the menu except cake; and finally they all tried. Very popular and ate most was the Black Forest cherry cake, which was spectacular every time. The only cake I didn't taste was the poppy cake, but he managed to finish it. They serve a beautiful Gruner Vertliner and many kinds of beer. Beautiful waiting staff that presented me at the end of my holiday Chiemsee Oblaten. I miss it!

Small, cosy cafe with a terrasse overlooking the lake. Small variety of cakes/tarts/sweets, menu with 1 veg. meal. Closed on Mondays and as of 8 pm (off-season)
