"This restaurant has always been one of my top 3 fish and chip shops in that area, well worth a visit. friendly staff. fantastic food at a fair price. parking is ok out the front but can get busy. ignore the one star review that muppet left because they dared to take a holiday and close the restaurant for a few days. that is so petty."

"We tried this restaurant tonight and it was fantastic. When we got there, we was the only ones in there but they made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Incredible service and always made sure we was ok. we think he was the owner but one of the guys explained their starter to us and split it up into the three of us, just going that extra mile! Food was delicious, service outstanding and we’ll definitely be back!"

"We booked a wake here for about 30 people as it was local and the price was competitive. Also the pictures of the food on the website were quite appealing so we were happy to book. When the food arrived it was thoroughly underwhelming. The sandwiches we ok but not really enough for 30 people. The rest was really really poor. It was the type of food that I could have picked up at Aldi or Iceland and cooked for half and hour in an oven. Mini sausage rolls mini sausages, quiches etc. There weren't any cakes or pastries. It was a glorified picnic that wasn't worth the £400 we paid. It was very embarrassing and spoiled what was otherwise good day under the circumstances. Also we had to keep asking for more cups and tea and coffee throughout. We didn't feel it was appropriate at the time to raise these issues. So we sent an email later that week expressing our dissatisfaction with the food and our thoughts that we should receive some recompense. After not hearing anything back after 5 days I rang and spoke to Rob. He totally disagreed that there was anything wrong with the food and that the website was not a representation of the food currently on offer as he had just taken over the business and the website needed changing. He also asked why we didn't say anything on the day. I explained that it wasn't the time or place on such an upsetting day, and we had sent an email.He said he had not seen it and would like to read it so he could digest all our issues and then get back to us. He never did which is no surprise as he could not see anything wrong with the food he provided. I would think twice about booking a function here if you want more then some finger food chucked on some plates. Also you should really change your website food pictures if it is not indicative of the food that you provide."

"Eldest pub in england with dated proff. beautiful staff, eating was excellent, and each piece of the pub looked like a museum! we loved it there a public walk near for a walk (30 minute or 2h full of birds and wildlife). we have also learned a lot from the beautiful staff available. has tried a new Scottish beingeschirr and a fine ale! we'll be back!"
