"Came with high hopes after a refurbishment but left disappointed. The food wasn’t bad but nowhere near where it was a few years ago. The comfy sofas in the bar have been replaced by (too many) rough pub chairs and tables, likely to create more covers, but with only two staff to do all the serving and the bar, it seemed rather pointless and it had reached the level of joking with other customers about the delays. I’m not going to criticise those working there as they were obviously doing the best they could but whoever owns/manages this establishment needs to take a long, hard look at what they want achieve. There are plenty of much better places in every respect around the local area..."

"We had the best Sunday roast lunch we can remember. Brilliant service. We sat in the old part of the building. Roast beef served to order with endless Yorkshire and roasts and gravy and greens. Worth the hour drive from London and then some."
