First time...gyro was fabulous! Great hot fries. Patty melt was missing thousand island dressing, but cooked well. Coleslaw was sweet and creamy! Will definitely go again! View all feedback.
What Bob Altman doesn't like about Athenian:
A very popular lunch spot, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but you would think a gyro would be a specialty. Flavor just wasn't. Not bad, but nothing at all. Nearly void of spice, and the tziki was just as plain...mostly sour cream. Perhaps they have removed the spices for their regulars, but I was disappointed. Prices were fair enough, but I had hoped for more. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per per... View all feedback.
Friendly service... Great food. Granted, I only got a Gyro to go, but it did not disappoint! If you go after 1 pm you'll miss the crowd and you won't have to wait long at all. (They close around 4pm) AT LUNCH TIME THIS PLACE IS PACKED! It's a small shop, but it gets it done!
Great service! The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. It's also inexpensive. Every time I go I wonder why I don't go more often.
Open only for early meals, closing about 2 PM daily. The food is great, and you can eat there, or take out. Not large, and has a very loyal and strong following. Probably the best giros and double decker sandwiches I have had.
Nice diner. Gyro was very tasty. Got there some time after noon and there was a bit of a wait for our food, but not terrible.
Great lunch spot, the dining room was full and had to sit outside. Fortunately there was great weather and made for a great experience. Plenty of food for the price and served quickly. Must wear a mask before sitting down to eat. Socially distanced. Street entrance is where you enter and the side door is where you exit to avoid contact. Highly recommend the Classic Gyro!
