Fabulously authentic Japanese restaurant in the perfect place in Montgomery. We reserved a private Tatami room for a special occasion. We had to order a minimum of $100, which was not difficult for our family. Service and food were fantastic! From appetizers to dessert, every single dish was delicious! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mei Japanese:
I have been on a quest for the best sushi in Cincinnati, which brought me here. After trying it I'm convinced it's ok but I'd rather try the rest of the menu next time. I'm conflicted because from the assortment we tried, some were delicious and some were not. Salmon skin had a burnt taste to it for example, and tamago had a strange presentation and seemed not very fresh. We even splurged on some tuna belly and felt... View all feedback.

Great sushi to come from a restaurant that is not close to the coast and therefore has no access to fresher fish. But this place was great. I have the barbecue, the tuna and the yellow tail nigiri. The rice was a great texture and the sashimi taste was on point. I have the tonkatsu fried pork fillets and they were also excellent. Very close to what you can get in Japan. I wish I had more room in my stomach to try more. I'll be back soon.
We love this place! We had Tonkotsu wheels, Tan-shio, Chirashi and Rolling Island Wave and all were DELICIOUS!! Rolling Island Wave and Chirashi were a bomb!! Servers were nice and friendly. We'll definitely be back!
This place has excellent authentic Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price. The whole food reminded me of my visit to Japan. I have the Tonkatsu rays that were delicious. The broth was rich and creamy and not excessively salted. Not the best ramen I ever had, but definitely the best I had in Ohio. The sushi was excellent and the sushi chef comes from Japan. The tempura was delicious and well roasted. Overall fantastic experience in this place. I will definitely be back in the future.
This is our new favorite sushi place! The hospitality is amazing. The quality of their sushi was great. Their ramen bowls and miso soup were so flavorful and also some of the best I’ve had.
