"I dropped there at least 10 times last year since I moved to Ithaca. The owner/manager who sometimes works behind the bar and a waitress who used to work, there are both very nice people. Last night asked for a table for two, a waiter told us, it's an hour waiting, good with us. Before I left, I asked if we could sit at the bar and showed on 2 empty bar stools, he said they could just sit there. So out of curiosity, I just asked why? He was triggered. He asked us what we do for work. We told him what we were doing. Then he asked if we made choices at work... (unnecessarily long conversation to come to his point that it would make his decision. It was a funny conversation, but I thought passive aggressiveness was not called for a simple question. I hope he had a bad day. I won't go back there."

"The restaurant is modern and clean. The hibachi was subpar at best. The “soup” we got was literally just water with pepper and a couple scallions and dry mushrooms floating around. No miso in ithow do you forget the miso??? None of us could eat the soup. The salad was fine lettuce with a lot of weirdly chunky dressing. They gave us one dipping sauce that was boring tasted like mayo mixed with ketchup. The noodles and rice were just soy sauce and had little of anything else added to it no veggie mixed in the rice either. The portions were good, but it felt like I was cheated a bit for the $30 I paid for it. Very little theatrics from the hibachi chef, he wasn’t conversing with us. Just made the food, clanged his utensils, mocked something I said, and left. We got two bursts of fire and that was it. NOT worth coming for the hibachi. The sushi looks good in the other reviews but I’m not sold. Wouldn’t come back for the hibachi, that’s for sure. "After prior review we did not ask vegan fish sauce or oils. We don't think we have any. But we asked for brown rice, and they gave us what questioned me how much we understood. Food tastes good."
