this is the best place in london for gin lovers and those who want to learn about gin. I understand that they have about 350 bottles to count out (too many for me and check) they offer a series of different gin tasting as well as some gin “classes”. they offer many flights on basic category (style, region, etc.) I chose a flight that covered the 8 main flavors (flamvor spectrum:) dry, flowery, zitrus, savory, sweet,... What User doesn't like about The London Gin Club:
Fantastic bar for gin lovers and those who are new to Gin! The staff are extremely helpful and spend time getting to know what gins you normally like to make great recommendations. They also do good value tasting boards, gin soaked pies gin tasting events! View all feedback.
On our second visit, we enjoyed drinks in the bar with a gin-focused cocktail menu. The bar offers a wide selection of gins from around the world and takes pride in creating the perfect pairing with the right tonic and garnishes. The atmosphere was lively, although one server was a bit too attention-seeking. Despite this, we had a great time and would definitely return for another class or a drink.
We were fortunate to not have a reservation, as we arrived right when the restaurant opened. Despite normally having a two-hour time limit, we were accommodated for one hour due to the lack of reservation. The service was exceptional and the drinks were fantastic. Although we primarily drink whiskey and have limited knowledge of gin, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, helping us navigate through various options. If you enjoy gin or are looking to expand your knowledge on the spirit, be sure to make reservations and visit this place.
My partner and I reserved a table for two to grab a couple of drinks before heading to dinner. Despite the bar being only half full, we were crammed into one end. The tables were uncomfortably close together and the music was terrible. The gin was enjoyable, but we found the prices to be too high for what was offered and we thought the atmosphere was too showy.
You’ll get an ok G&T or follow the formula cocktail at quite the price. They have a great selection of gins, but the ‘expert’ advice apparently offered on the menu (and that may have been there when this place was the ‘Gin Star’ has been completely lost and is non-existent, replaced by inexperienced transient staff with no real interest in the bar trade. For example my wife’s cocktail was spilt everywhere when placed down losing about 1/5 of the drink. A complete accident, but just leaving the now short drink there with no remake, instead just half mopping up the spillage isn’t what you’d expect at £15 a pop and £3 worth on the table/floor/my leg!!!!!! The bill still came with 12.5% service on, typical of the ‘it doesn’t matter service as you’ll need to ask to remove it’ approach to service that is all too prevalent! It’s ok if you fancy a G&T, but don’t expect any advice other than to direct you to the top end of the menu and accept the pricy drinks! Many better places nearby! So it’s not an unpleasant place, but follow your own advice and be prepared for the price. My advice is that there are plenty of better options in the area.
Venue is nice. Menu seems ok Very inattentive staff who also don’t seem to know much about gin. The female waitress was friendly, the male waiters seemed utterly clueless. They all spent their time chatting while guests were sitting at tables with empty glasses. We left after one drink as we just couldn’t be bothered to fight for the attention of waiters in a more or less empty place on a Friday night. I doubt this place can afford people sitting with empty glasses. We could easily have spent much more money there if the service had been good. We also didn’t receive the snack we had ordered.
