The atmosphere is nice and the food is mostly good. I liked the french onion soup and escargot. The cheese board was not very good, nor was the ratatouille. Nice spot to eat at if you're in the area, otherwise probably not worth venturing to just to dine here. View all feedback.
What K H doesn't like about Chez Moi:
Chez Moi was 'eh. Albeit a packed dining room, I still think Chez Moi is 'eh. The food was ok, nothing to brag about.Again, this review is one person 's opinion. To that end, I am not saying don 't go, but just know I wasn 't impressed. View all feedback.
Very sweet French restaurant. We had lamb, risotto and frog legs. The food was very delicious, especially the lamb! Nice atmosphere, even though it was a bit too cold inside for our taste. Would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Location: upscale yet casual, dress code is loose but nice. Great ambiance, low light dinner setting makes for a perfect evening date location. The added secret bar also adds to the allure.Food: absolutely fantastic. We had the foi gras, which was nutty and smooth (I know, it is a terrible thing, but when in a French restaurant, you have to seize the opportunity). The escargot was also great. The duck breast was perfectly cooked, and the orange reduction paired masterfully. My wife had the risotto, which she raved about. The wine selection is moderate but very well placed, with mostly French and European options.Service: attentive, cordial, and warm without being interruptive. A full house on a Saturday night but somehow never felt out of reach.Value: 100% will visit again and take out of town friends in. About $50 per person with drinks, it is a fine dining experience with the stuffy feel of city restaurants. It 's definitely a gem of a place.
We had an amazing brunch experience at Chez Moi! The Croque Madame, Egg White Frittata, Homemade Scones and cappuccino were all delicious. The service was great, and the prices were fair for the quality. The cozy and tasteful atmosphere made it even better. We definitely plan to return!
My husband and I arrived at 4:45 15 minutes before they opened for dinner. We were seated graciously and ordered drinks, which came promptly and were perfect. Since everything looked so good on the menu, I choose to eat appetizers instead of a full dinner. My escargot, tuna tartar with avocado and onion soup were all excellent. My husband had frogs legs and duck with cherry sauce (he's extremely fussy) and he cleaned his plate. We shared a chocolate mousse for dessert which was so delicious we were sorry we only ordered 1 to share. The service was impeccable... great atmosphere.... We'll be back for sure.
I can’t decide if I like this place. The first time, the food was good, the service was good, but we were stuck in this awkward 2-top table outside the kitchen where you get nudged by passing people or locked in one place. The second time, the food was ok, but the service was subpar. Somehow we ended up at the same table. The waiter brought our drinks after a while, then we waited forever to order food. I had to ask about the specials. Midway through our meal, we ordered another round of drinks. He took the order and left the empty glasses on the crowded table. He brought the next round of drinks, and it looked like he was going to turn away, so I politely said, “Can you please take these glasses with you?” And he replied that he “knew how to do his job” in the most pretentious way. Quite frankly, he hadn’t indicated to us at all that he knew how to do his job. My boyfriend sat for a while with a bowl of leftover mussels sauce and it was a food runner who thought to ask if he wanted bread, which he promptly brought. There are plenty of other decent French places in Brooklyn at this price point.
