Contribute Feedback What Matt I likes about Gyu-kaku Japanese Bbq:
They kept us waiting 20 minutes before they seated us even though we were on time for our reservation, but I gotta say the food is incredibly good. However, the prices have definitely gone up and the value is not as much there anymore. Still, excellent yakiniku cuisine and everyone should give it a try. View all feedback.
What Jennifer Geminn doesn't like about Gyu-kaku Japanese Bbq:
Corner table in back server barley came over. Dirty plates sat there for hours. Had to ask for flame to be turned down as it got high and dangerous. Don't sit at a back corner table. View all feedback.
A Japanese restaurant specializing in meat and barbecue, a very excellent restaurant picks meat to **** and maims. You enjoy eating it, bait, so delicious, and the service is excellent, the cover is medium to height, but the restaurant deserves to visit.
Coming from Southern California, I'm always pleasantly surprised to stumble upon chains I'm familiar with out west in NYC. <br/ <br/ As with the other Gyu-Kaku locations you can grill your own food here, be it enoki mushrooms in butter or shrimp. We ordered a ton of seafood and found it to be very fresh and, b/c we were able to control the temperatures ourselves, never dry or overcooked. We also grilled some tender, succulent bites of asparagus and mushrooms. Service was prompt, as our waters are continuously filled, but quite unobtrusive.<br/ <br/ We shared a hot stone (dolsot) bibimbap and tofu stew while we waited for our food to cook. This was perhaps too much food for two, but no regrets as it was delicious.<br/ <br/ For dessert we had lovely slice of green tea mille crepe from Lady M, which is one of my favorite cakes.<br/ <br/ This place really hits the spot when you want freshly grilled Japanese food! The anticipation of the food while you grill it is definitely pleasurable. I for one am thrilled that Gyu-Kaku has opened up so many locations in the city, and even one location in White Plains in Westchester!
Tender n juicy beef and awesome drinks!. Great atmosphere for a few drinks and snacks. Interact with your food by grabbing a pair of tongs and bbq your own thinly sliced beef! They have a wide range of selections... kobe beef, rib eye slices, kalbi spare ribs (bone in and out , new york strip, filet mignon, and the list goes on. The hanger steak and prime ribeye are two of my personal favorites! It's tender and juicy! There are two dipping sauces (regular and spicy don't be afraid to try the spicy because it's really just a mild flavor! The sauces are light and doesn't cover the freshness of the meats so no worries! Dip away!!!The seaweed salad is a good compliment to the loads and loads of beef! If you are looking for something a bit more filling, the bimbimbap comes in a scorching hot stone pot! The orders are somewhat on the small side so you will probably be ordering a lot... and it adds up in the end to a ridiculously fat bill! So if possible try to go during happy hours!!! (the wait on a thurs night for happy hour service is about 45 minutes . However, it is all worth it in the end!!!
Great Japanese BBQ place. I love this place for Japanese BBQ. They have great Kobe beef selections. They chuck kalbi and pork sausage are good. I also like their chicken noodles in garlic sauce.<br/ <br/ For dessert, you do not want to miss their Green Tea Crepe
We had a wonderful dining experience celebrating both of my daughters' birthdays yesterday. The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional. Our server was incredibly patient, friendly, and provided outstanding service. We were extremely pleased with our experience and look forward to returning in the future.
