Quintessential dive bar. This is one of our favorite places to go for a beer. They also have really good shepards pies and scotched eggs when available. Small, cozy space. Regulars here are a lot of fun and welcoming to newcomers. Great mix of people. Single pool table in a little back loft and also a quiet little lounge room in another back area. I was in town and was looking for a good gastropub. The place is below street level. The bar was filled with regulars. The people were friendly. Bartender didn’t pay much attention to me compared to the regulars. Food was limited to a shepards pie (no menu — that’s what the bartender said) which was good. Prices are excellent.
