It used to be Horne's Restaurant a long time ago and was a popular place to drop in for a meal on a drive to Peterborough for my husband's family back in the 60's. According to his memory, the place is much the same as back then. It's an old fashioned dining establishment with a bar and a separate room to play pool. The décor is still much as it might have been back then too. There were a number of older couples there enjoying a late Saturday lunch and it appeared they were mostly regulars. We were really happy to find that the food was good. Everyone was happy making choices from the old diner sort of selections they had. I had the open face roast beef sandwich with fries and vegetables. Honestly the vegetables were cooked to perfection, still crisp with full colour. I was impressed. The burgers were delicious as well. Service was efficient too even though there was only one man handling all the tables then. We all left quite happy that we stopped there for lunch. They might skimp on the exterior and interior flashiness but they do seem to know good home cooking. The restaurant is not depicted in its proper location on google maps by the way so don't go by that map.
I am providing a review of the Designer Shoe Warehouse Sale that took place over the Victoria Day long weekend.
I'm not exactly sure what other activities or events take place at this restaurant, aside from outlet sales, as I am not familiar with the area of Markham.
I visited this restaurant for Jamabana last week.
