We ate lunch and the menu choices made it difficult to choose. They all sounded so good. I would have to recommend the fish tacos. A good size meal with stacks of flavour. Efficient staff with a great view to boot. I definitely recommend it. View all feedback.
What Gianfranco Taddei doesn't like about Yknot Bistro @ Coffs Harbour Yacht Club:
I was their in December 2016 for a Christmas party and the food was great. However I have been hearing reviews in town that the food has gone down. Cannot comment on this as I have not been their lately. There is a rumour that they are closing - this would be a shame as it is one of only three Coffs restaurants on or near the water. I have continued going back to YKnot because I love the view and in hope they'd make changes in accordance with customer reviews and feedback. This morning was my final visit when for the first time, I sent a meal back to the kitchen as it was a 'special' and came out looking inedible! I was aware the kitchen was closing so rather than put the staff out, I told them kindly not to worry, I'd enjoy my smoothie and the company of my family.I was only told after I questioned our already processed payment upon leaving the venue that I had been charged for the meal I hadn't touched and send straight back, because I ordered it!The staff standing behind the counter like a group of gossiping teenagers, mobile phones in pockets and this game changing call was made by the chef who needs to get off his high horse and practice creating a specials menu or learn to cook (which ever applies!).Disappointed.
Just had 30 people there for a reunion dinner, and it was absolutely excellent. The service and the food were outstanding and without exception everyone thought the night was wonderful. Strongly recommended.
Don't waste your time going here there are much nicer places to eat with WAY better service. I had to wait 20 minutes for the kitchen to open for lunch for starters, then ordered the salmon bruschetta, but they gave me tomato bruschetta. When I asked them to change it they brought me out my original tomato bruschetta with a side bowl of raw salmon chunks and told me to put the salmon on top of it myself - it was disgusting!!! Seriously don't waste your time going here. They may have a great view but that's about it.
There was not much of a selection on the menu. The taste of what was ordered was not right. An order was meant to have salt and pepper but was some kind of chilli covering. A whole fish came out, bones and head included.
Visited this restaurant twice in the past month or so. However the management has now changed or is about to change, since our last visit 3 weeks ago. As it was the food was very good with the bonus of a beautiful view over the ocean and to sit out on the balcony and enjoy a nice lunch in the sun was perfect. If the yacht club, which owns the property, keep on the same chef(s) and staff then maybe it will maintain the standards set, but if they somehow try and cut costs then as always quality will fall.
