"We went to Brae for our wedding anniversary. It had been on my list for years, and this was the perfect reason to tick it off the bucket list. I had read many reviews, so knew the standout would be the accommodation, which didn’t disappoint. It was modern, spacious, and relaxing. Very lovely. However, I wasn’t sure what to expect regarding the food based on what I had heard from others. Disappointingly, we were underwhelmed by the food. I’m not quite sure how to explain it, other than we only loved 2 of the dishes, and we didn’t finish a few dishes because they weren’t very nice (even basic things, like the bread and home made butter). Some flavours were strong and overpowering, and other dishes were bland the balance was off. There were limited non alcoholic drinks on the menu for those not drinking. In our view, our lunch was certainly not worth the price tag, and I’d be spending my time and money at other fine dining restaurants instead."

"Although the food was very good, the service left a bit to be desired. Staff were courteous and friendly and the atmosphere of the place is lovely but the meals took well over an hour to be served from time ordered, in fact served just before afternoon tea time, and one meal forgotten and bought out as everyone else had almost finished. There were other customers arriving after us and receiving their meals before us. This put a dampener on the day as some had the long drive back to Melbourne and had to rush off."

"We had dinner and it absolutely lovely. Excellent friendly, fast service. Modern decor in Deco Style Pub. Large tables so plenty of space for those with wide elbows! I had the kangaroo which was beautifully and tender. Would highly recommend it."

"I walked into the store and ordered takeaway spring rolls (which i was very excited about because they happen to be delicious) and sweet n sour pork. When i came in to collect my meals (note there was an elderly man also collecting takeaway food...that was arguing with the male owner because he wouldnt give him his meals because they didn’t remember him) the female owner checked over my meals and i noticed she had written curry puffs instead of spring rolls. When i asked about it she told me i ordered curry puffs which i know i didn’t because i don’t like them. I politely asked if i could have spring rolls instead and she replied with a blunt ‘No’. Its disappointing walking into an establishment and being met with total disregard to customers. Working in hospitality myself, i know i would go above and beyond for my patrons. Because the customer is always right (within reason)."
