The Gallery Cafe - Colombo

Superb service, we came late for lunch but they still seated us. Food was great, clean and fresh (had prawns and fish). The wine list needs a bit work but still offered a small but ok selection. Try the home made ice cream!

A beautiful space that used to be studio for the renowned Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. It offers a nice selection of western and Sri Lankan food. Be sure to try one of their cakes--my favourite is the carrot cake. The ambience is lovely and the drinks are good. I recommend the Long Island Iced Tea. The Gallery Cafe is a wonderful little place for a romantic candle-lit dinner.

One of the very high end cafes in Colombo. The menu is massive and they got anything and everything. Atmosphere is superb here and usually does not get too busy. Tried the crab and the pork dishes and they were very tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes were amazing too. The cocktails are also a treat with a fair share of alcohol in them. The outdoor seating area is lovely if the weather treats you right.
