What Montel Moore doesn't like about Camon Japanese:
The space was nice, food was not good though. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and the chicken was dry and white rice tasted like literal plastic. The server was very sweet and nice. After only eating a few bites the owner only gave a 25% discount since ?the food had been sitting on the table for a while?. $17 for very dry chicken is ridiculous. When I tell you this is amazing, good lord I want to invest in this restaurant and make it known to the world. This place should not be kept a shallow secret. I would marry the sushi chef if it was promised to eat this well everyday. Bro on god, come here. Best. Spent. Money. Ever. Ordering some to go, so you guys have less. Call me greedy, I call hungry for more of this perfect sushi.
Great place for sushi and other traditional Japanese foods. The atmosphere and decor makes you feel as if you are actually there.
If you know what good fish is, and intend to order sashimi, steer clear of this place. Grocery store quality fish at above premium grade prices and below average serving sizes. I sat at the bar and ordered unagi, salmon, maguro, scallop, and a single hand roll; bill was $87 before tip. Left wildly disappointed in quality for price, and worse, still hungry! Felt like I got scammed. Go get a $15 dominos pizza, you'll be much more satisfied... footnote: Camon just changed ownership and doesn't have an alcohol license yet, so no sake. Plus the sushi chefs are babbling, unprofessional college kids still learning how to cut fish and make rolls.
Delicious food and outstanding service!! And their new green tea crepes were the perfect dessert to end the experience.
Celebrated our 1st year anniversary and it was a lovely experience. Calvin and Veronica made sure we had a good time here. We set a reservation and anticipated the sushi chef per the pictures to be there, but we were informed due to COVID, he was required to retire. It appeared that there were college students rolling sushi instead. However, the sushi was rolled well and LOVED that the nigiri included the little dab of wasabi under the fish, which is the correct way to roll sushi. Another fact that made me really happy to hear is they cut and prepare the fish in house, that's cool! Calvin brought out this white soy sauce for the sushi and that paired so well! My only complaint was they do not sell beer or liquor at this time as they were in the process of updating their license. Green tea is just fine though. If you want ACTUAL authentic Japanese sushi cuisine, you have to come here!!
