Monterrey's is a place that will always have my heartI attend college here in Columbia and have becoming here for 3 years now.

"Great service, out waitress always checked to see if we needed anything the food came promptly and was delicious. The only thing is they were playing country music. I mean I love country music. But when you go to a Mexican restaurant you expect Mexican music. That was the only that was different."

"Omg I loved it! We are from out of town and finding authentic Rican food is always hard; not everyone cooks it the same. However this was amazing. The food was delicious... Full of flavor, tender, authentic drinks. The owner and her family were so sweet... I felt like I was at my relatives house. Service was fast and they were super attentive. Highly recommended to anyone!"

"Reopened under new management.... Despite what Urbanspoon has stated, Jake's is once again open for business (was there Sunday before last). It's a nice place that's a cut above most other bars in Five Points. With over 30 beers on tap and some interesting takes on bar food, you could do a lot worse in downtown Columbia."

"Atmosphere, service and food was top notch. 8 of us were there for a birthday lunch. One little complaint, they stuck us in this weird back corner when we were pretty much the first people there. The table was so far in the corner, the servers kept having to squeeze past us to adjust the lighting, we had to pass piping hot plates down to our people unfortunate enough to be seated in the corner and several of us had to get up in order to let people out to use the bathroom. So everything was great except for the seating."
