"Had a wonderful breakfast with my friend here today. Opening day and everything was running smooth as glass. We were greeted by 5 different people as we entered and were made to feel like old family friends. The food was served hot, quickly and delicious. The pancakes, homemade syrup and biscuits with homemade blueberry preserves were out of this world good. The owner came by to welcome us and told us that she and her sister started this idea with much restaurant experience. It shows! We will definitely be back very soon with so many wonderful items to try on the menu and in the showcases."

"“All hope abandon, ye who enter here”. You can smell the despair and shattered dreams as you enter making the Devils Backbone Tavern a truly authentic dive bar with a pulse. "I spent many years working abroad for the military, Germany, Italy etc. and Gennaro's is about as authentic as you can get. The portions were perfect and the food itself was excellent. A couple next to us ordered pizza and it also looked amazing. I ordered the Chicken Florentine and my wife had the Halibut special (free), which included handmade crab ravioli and shrimp. Both meals were exceptional and their fish was cooked for perfection. The bread and salads that came with meals were delicious and fresh. Everything was presented perfectly. I think we found our new favorite restaurant here in the area of New Braunfels. Just perfect."
