Sorrento's - Coolum Beach

I had fish and chips at this fantastic small restaurant. The owner was very funny and had me laughing throughout my meal. Even though I don't usually enjoy fish and chips, I thought the ones here were some of the best I've ever had. They were cooked perfectly. I will definitely be returning, especially for the excellent service.

During our recent stay in Coolum, we ordered takeaway breakfasts from Sorrentos every morning. The full breakfasts included eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, and tomato for a reasonable price. While most beachside eateries offered healthy, whole food options, Sorrentos served up a delicious old-fashioned breakfast that was truly delicious. Kudos to the staff for their fantastic work!

My experience at Sorrento's on a Saturday morning was very disappointing. The lady behind the counter was not friendly and welcoming. The menu was difficult to navigate as it was spread out on various boards throughout the cafe. When I tried to order gluten free bread with my breakfast, I was told it was too late as the food was already being prepared. However, when my food finally arrived over twenty minutes later, it was not worth the wait. The bacon was overcooked and hard, and the scrambled eggs were dry and tough. Overall, the customer service and food quality at Sorrento's left much to be desired. I would not recommend this restaurant in Coolum, as there are much better options available.

Ordered banana bread which wasn’t even banana just full of lumps of nuts. Ended up finding the end of a zip tie in my food! Absolutely disgusting. Went in and got a refund but wasn’t even offered an apology. This has made me feel so...sick and I definitely do not recommend anyone eating here ever

Dined here after our usual place wasn’t opened. Poor customer service while taking our order (maybe should’ve been an indicator of what to expect). Luke warm tea, despite ordering extra hot. Half of our food order arrived, with an error, no problem sent it...back to be remedied, only to be served the same meal minus the incorrect ingredients BUT with remnants of said ingredient still all over ultimately spoiling the meal. Then the other half of our order is delivered. Items missing, waitress argued that I didn’t order them, only to then admit that they were just added to random plates at our table. Scrambled eggs tasted like they were cooked last week, with fly spray. All but one in our party couldn’t eat their meal. There are much better, fresher, cheaper friendlier options in Coolum. Will not be returning.
