"We came for dinner as a stop over on a road trip through Italy. The experience was great we arrived late and this place was recommended by the lady running our Airbnb. The experience was cozy and lovely from start to finish! The decor and atmosphere was captivating and the staff were attentive and lovely. The man who I believe was the owner was great with recommendations with local cuisine. The food was beautiful and perfect after a long journey, I ate ordered the carpaccio di Chianina to start which was beautiful and refreshing, while the others ordered a fritto misto starter and a meat platter which all were fresh and lovely. For mains I ordered the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and fresh truffle, this was absolutely divine the pasta so clearly made fresh and the mushrooms were fresh and local, absolute 10/10. The bill and menu were both handwritten which is good sign of a great experience. We ordered local wine which was also lovely. All in all definitely try to visit here if you’re passing through Villafranca, this is the perfect local experience"

"For 2 years now we have gone to Parma for the Easter weekend and on both occassions we have driven over to Calestano to go to this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing and what a bargain too! On both occasions we have been the ONLY English speaking people at this family run restaurant where no-one speaks English. On Easter Sunday though they just show you a set menu and bring food out non-stop until you can't move. And wine too. Amazing place and we will definitely be back next year!"
