"Great front of house staff and nice decor in restaurant but sadly the food didn’t live up to that. The fish chowder looked attractive but was cold and bland and tasted as though it was out of a can, the salad looked attractive but it was huge whole leaves that were impossible to cut and eat in the small dish, the green kale was cold. The fish in the tacos was better but was served in rubbery soft tacos. We abandoned our attempts. Manager Leah handled the situation with grace. Usually restaurants in the Bib Gourmand stable are pretty reliable. I guess we chose to visit on an off day."

"This place was a massive surprise with gorgeous food and dog friendly. From the outside The Rising Sun looks like an average village pub, but upon entry you realise that it’s not your average pub. The food although not cheap, was gorgeous this is an understatement we had a very warm welcome upon entering the pub by whom I assume was the owner or manager. He was extremely passionate about the ability of the chef and extremely knowledgeable about the food on offer as well as the drinks available. I would definitely recommend a visit to this hidden delight and we will certainly be back for a visit next year"

"9 of us came here and had the most wonderful evening with great cocktails to start as well as gorgeous food throughout. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The kitchen also tweaked my dads starter for him and nothing was too much trouble for the whole team. Everyone at the table expressed how impressed they were with all the food which was well portioned and some still managed to share some desserts! As my dad is in a wheelchair, I had prior communication with Adam who made the pre booking and experience throughout wonderful. We had drinks in the bar beforehand and we weren’t rushed along to our table as our party were all arriving at different times. Everyone looked after us superbly and Adam is an absolute top class manager. Some of our party were already arranging to come back for lunch as although local, not everyone had been to Mannings. Great experience, disabled friendly and a great menu selection. Thank you and see you again soon!"

"We stopped here for a light lunch bite. As a veggy there wasn't much choice so asked if a cheese sandwich could be made. The waitress had to ask the kitchen if this was possible. She came back saying that it could only be made from grated cheese. We asked why it couldn't be made from sliced cheese that was part of the Ploughman's option. This was not possible as the kitchen was too busy! Highly disappointing that such a simple request could not be met. Poor reflection on the New Inn"
