We stay in this area a lot and The Rising Sun is a firm favourite. Absolutely lovely food, stacks of vegetarian options for me and lots of variety for everyone else. Lovely wines and beers and a very warm welcome. Really can’t fault it at all. Dog friendly in a big way, which is wonderful. View all feedback.

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday. Just the locals in situ when we arrived. Only one barmaid who was also helping in kitchen so bar unattended for long periods Ordered two drinks and a chilli cheese chips ham pea soup. £8.95 for the soup was a bit steep with one slice of thin bread There was a wait of 25 minutes for the food and the soup was lukewarm on arrival but was hungry so didn't return to the kitchen.
