"Fantastic lunch for 6 of us! We chose lunch rather than evening to Make the best of the views and also to be offered the sea food platter which fantastic for 2. We had it as a shared starter and followed it with a shared pizza. We knew from previous experience that 2 mains would be just too much! Great staff friendly and knowledgable. This venue just goes from strength to strength. Such lovely weather for late October ,we were able to sit outside after for a drink."

"Terrible. Waitress clearly didn’t want to be there, rude and miserable. Food very larger portions of poor quality food . Sea food starter was not a described on menu, steak flavourless with a very cheep of the shelf sauce . Ice cream £3 per very small scoop . Wine poor . Restaurant not even a quarter full in the Friday night I can see why . Over priced, poor quality and terrible service. Don’t waste your money guys ."

"Great front of house staff and nice decor in restaurant but sadly the food didn’t live up to that. The fish chowder looked attractive but was cold and bland and tasted as though it was out of a can, the salad looked attractive but it was huge whole leaves that were impossible to cut and eat in the small dish, the green kale was cold. The fish in the tacos was better but was served in rubbery soft tacos. We abandoned our attempts. Manager Leah handled the situation with grace. Usually restaurants in the Bib Gourmand stable are pretty reliable. I guess we chose to visit on an off day."

"This place was a massive surprise with gorgeous food and dog friendly. From the outside The Rising Sun looks like an average village pub, but upon entry you realise that it’s not your average pub. The food although not cheap, was gorgeous this is an understatement we had a very warm welcome upon entering the pub by whom I assume was the owner or manager. He was extremely passionate about the ability of the chef and extremely knowledgeable about the food on offer as well as the drinks available. I would definitely recommend a visit to this hidden delight and we will certainly be back for a visit next year"
