What User doesn't like about Il Falconiere:
We had two different set tasting menus. The food was fine, but not Michelin star quality in my opinion. And it was overpriced. We were seated indoors, I assume because it was too hot outdoors in the sun. But the interior decor is outdated. I think it would be nicer if you sit outdoors in the evening and you order a la carte. My wife and I spent our 20th anniversary at the Il Falconieri. An amazing hotel to say the least. We were lucky enough to get a seating off a Thursday evening (early) on our last night at the hotel. We had enjoyed our breakfast every morning at the restaurant buffet and was looking forward to the Michelin starred experience. My wife and I showed up and we’re kindly greeted by a staff member. We were seated and served water and complimentary champagne. The menu was explained to us and we opted for the 2 course option. 15 minutes into our experience, our waiter came up to us (maybe the Maitre d to let us know we could not dine there because we were wearing shorts. We were stunned. We had been to breakfast 4 days in a row in the same room and witnessed folks with flip flop sandals shorts tee shirts and a lady even brought her small dog (not a service dog) one morning. We were wearing dress shirts belts nice clothes loafers. The man that informed us was very apologetic. We left very embarrassed and my wife was extremely disappointed. The hotel should list something about dress code in the rooms, or SOMEONE in the restaurant should have told us as soon as we entered and before seating us. 3 different staff members interacted with us before we were asked to leave and never said a word. We went back to our room and ordered room service. They did send a bottle of Rose champagne complimentary with our meal but we never opened it as we are not champagne fans. I would suggest updating your staff and posting a dress code somewhere in the rooms or in confirmation emails. It was quite a shame to end our stay at an otherwise amazing hotel this way. We went to another Michelin starred restaurant in Cortona called La Bucaccia and we wore dress shorts and were waited on by the owner himself…..an amazing experience.
Everything about Il Falconiere is worthy of the MIchelin star that it holds. The dining room is one of the most beautiful spaces you will ever see. The service is IMPECCABLE, including little details we were a party of 4 with one person drinking sparkling water and the other 3 drinking still, and they placed a small coaster under the glass of the one drinking sparkling to avoid questions. Also at the end of the meal when they provide you with a mixed dessert platter and small plates/forks, the forks were set at different angles for who was left handed vs. right handed. The presentation and quality of the food was exceptional there was not one dish that was not special.

A reality that for years offers a five-star service in a beautiful location on the Valdichiana. also has a starry restaurant that can be enjoyed by people outside the relais.
Returning from Rome, we searched for a restaurant in Tuscany to have lunch and we chose the falconiere. positive experience, the best is the location, then the products, many of its own production (green, oil, wines.) a little slow service.
