"We were so excited to treat my parents to an Italian dinner for their birthday last night, and opted for Toscano's after seeing that Cuckoo's in Coombs was closed. We were the first table to arrive at Toscano's that night. Unfortunately, Toscano's did not meet the mark. We were disappointed on so many levels. First, we ordered the large focaccia bread as an appetizer half of the focaccia was fresh and soft, while the other half was noticeably stale. We mentioned this to our server, who was inattentive at best, and he said he would talk to the kitchen but he never followed up nor did he bring us fresh focaccia.We specifically ordered a certain pasta dish because it was something that my Nonna used to make. We were brought the wrong dish (that was more expensive) but our server never returned to the table to check in with us, so eventually we just ate it.The pasta was exceptionally salty. We are a salt loving family, but the salt was extreme. Yes we ordered a dish with capers, olives and feta, but there were so many capers that it was difficult to eat.We left with a lot of leftovers, because we didn't really care to finish. We also skipped dessert because we knew it would only lead to disappointment. I was shocked that we were charged for our stale focaccia, but because of our servers lackluster attitude I didn't bother mentioning it to him, I just wanted to pay and leave.Sadly we will not be returning to Toscano's. Cuckoo's is worth the drive from the Comox Valley."

"Hubby and I had the burger, and for all you locals my husband says it could give the combo deluxe (you all know the place) a definite run for top spot. The burger is huge and and so full of flavour, worth every penny. Great location, look forward to many visits to this great addition to the Valley."

"Courtenay ‘s Pita Pit is head and shoulders above any fast food restaurant in the ComoxValley ! They offer a wide variety of healthy sandwiches and salads prepared with fresh veggies, cheeses, sauces and meats on either white or whole wheat pitas. Their current staff are extremely efficient and good at what they do. The two young ladies that “built “ my Pita were totally in sync and worked in tandem... pleasure to watch! My favourite sandwich is the Gyro....made on a whole wheat pita with grilled onions, mushrooms and green peppers plus tasty meat filled with fresh spinach, shredded lettuce,tomatoes,red onions,cucumbers, with a slathering of humus,then black olives, pineapple tidbits,feta cheese, tzasziki sauce topped with the grilled meat and veggies and a couple of squirts of donair sauce, salt and pepper, then rolled up into a large pillow of deliciousness! BON APPETITE ! 10-4 over and out"

"The food was outstanding, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered takeout, but the energy inside when picking up was very inviting. From the outside in, the dining area looked cozy and inviting as well. Ordered the Pulled Pork Burger and Caesar Salad for myself. Burger was mouth watering. On a soft pretzel bun slathered in a house made mayo, sits a hearty portion of perfectly cooked and seasoned pulled pork topped with a bed of exquisitely balanced Kimchi slaw. You will definitely be back for more. Side Caesar salad was well portioned with a crisp and fresh romaine lettuce paired with a creamy Caesar dressing and parmesian cheese sprinkled on to bring it all together. It was a nice flavor contrast to the Burger. Highly recommended, I will be back! Kid-friendliness: I'm not sure. No kids there to assess their friendliness at the time of my visit. I suppose there is always a chance that some some jerk kids could find their way inside, but that's just the risk you have to take for food this good! Parking: There is some street parking in the front and a decent lot just up the road. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel on!
