"Ambience here is nice, and the patio area has a nice array of space heaters and nice views of foliage outside. Staff were quick to seat us but just ok on speed there-after, and down-right slow to pay. Might be due to staffing shortages. The food is good, but nothing great (other reviews that describe how this place's best feature is the ambience are spot on. We had the salmon sandwich which was quite good. We opted for the Caesar Salad which was probably the high point for the food. The seafood crepe was not good at all and we couldn't even eat half of it. It seems like it's smeared in yellow mustard, cheese, and just wasn't appealing. Try some other places in Courtenay before Locals."

"We told the waitress we were splitting all of our order, but when it came, there were no salad tongs to split the salad, and the main meal well, we had to split it ourselves. We're used to getting our meal split (and don't mind paying extra for it) when we share our order. (Obviously not big eaters) The food is great, nevertheless, and not inexpensive. It feels good to support a local business. We can't put our finger on it, but we didn't feel welcome, just served."
