We dined on a cold Hills evening, and even though it was a Tuesday the place was very busy. The open fires make for a welcoming first impression on such a night! We ate in the restaurant section. One diner felt his medium steak was a tad underdone for his liking, but for the rest of us, the medium rare steak, the pork loin and the barramundi were cooked to perfection. Prices are mid range for the standard of food.Wil... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Crafers Hotel:
At $3.50 an oyster you'd expect something more than shrivel bacon & black sauce, sadly this is not the case. While the ambiounse might be good the meal prices are outrageous & not backed up by any real flavour. Cheese on the cheese plates are good again a stingy amount for the $ charged. Will not venture back nor recommend it. Overseas visitors beware overpriced food for a county pub experience. Parking is also an is... View all feedback.
I took my wife to the Crafers hotel for a night for her birthday and we enjoyed a memorable meal in the restaurant that night. We shared the Camembert Cuit au Four which was a fantastic appetiser then both of us had the Duo de...Canard (Duck two ways) as our main. It was also delicious. Top marks also to the Sommelier for guiding us on the Ashton Hills Pinot Noir to accompany the meal. That paired beautifully with the entire meal. He also chatted to us a couple of times during the course of the meal, ensuring we were enjoying the wine.
What a great night! A beautiful meal, much more than a pub meal, with great service and a magic wine list. The place is beautifully presented, with stone, glass, wood surrounds in a classic old style hotel. It was packed for a mid week meal...and having experienced it we understand why. Must come back.
I’ve been there a few times now and it’s perfect every single time. The cellar is impressive! The food is french-based with a touch of Australian in it. A bit expensive if you’re expecting a hotel-type of meal. But the ambiance, the food and the...wines make it absolutely worth a visit!
Stopped by for lunch on our way to Hahndorf and wow, what a beautiful venue/ restaurant! The dishes and wines have a heavy French I inspiration, the menu is fairly simple as they’ve taken the quality over quantity approach. We opted for the bouillabaisse which...was fantastic and the coq au vin which was great too. They provide pub classics such as a burger, fish and chips etc for those who wish to play it safe. The venue is simply gorgeous and is a notch above your typical “pub hotel”, we loved the everything about this place from decor, food to the excellent friendly service we were offered. Highly recommend this place !
WOW !!!! WHAT A GEM hidden just up and off the freeway Great service and unbelievable food. Well done to all......we will be back
